Sophie Norton is a 20 year old writer and university student, currently completing a degree in English Literature.
She was commended in the 2018 Foyle Young Poets award with her sestina ‘Cactus’, and has since had her poems published in various anthologies including ‘The Rabbit Hole’, ‘Viral Verses’, and ‘My Brain In All Its Perfidious Beauty’, as well as in the independent American Magazines ‘Rambler!’ and ‘Unpublished’.
She is a journalist for London-based ‘Lightwork Magazine’, and is head of the Blog team for the student-run Norman Rea Gallery in York.

Talent tastes like a tight-fitting, neoprene, Santa-Monica club scene where everyone has tongues for arms and the light bulbs don’t stop spitting. I shaved my head above an ergonomic freeway and deny the claims that it was staged. I don’t think my achievements have ever rivalled the effectiveness of my birth, a comedic strategy where nobody was amused.
