Cerasus Poetry Chapbook Competition # 1

Free to enter competition for poetry manuscripts of between 20 to 36 pages.

First prize: publication* in paperback and ebook editions, £100 advance against royalties, plus 10 complimentary copies.

2 runner-up prizes of publication*, plus 5 complimentary copies.

Closing date for entries: 31st March 2024.

Title your email: CHAPBOOK COMPETITION

Manuscript to be sent as an email attachment in a Word compatible format.

Document to be titled with your name only.

1st Page to show the following details: title of your poetry collection, your name, your email address, a precis of up to 100 words describing your chapbook.

2nd Page to list the titles of your poems.

The remainder of your manuscript must be at least 20 and no more than 36 A4 pages.

Each poem to start on a new page, single spaced and in a standard 12pt font.

No dedication, credits or autobiographical details to be included.

Poems must be in English only.

Individual, previously published poems, to which you hold full rights, may be included.

By entering the competition, you are declaring that the poems are entirely and exclusively your own work.

Multiple entries not allowed.

Following submission, no revisions or corrections are permitted.

Failure to adhere to the competition rules may result in disqualification.

Competition will be judged by John Wilks, Editor In Chief of Cerasus Poetry.

Longlist will be announced on or around 7th April, shortlist on or around 14th April and winners on or around 21st April.

The Editor’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

*Publication will be subject to our standard contract, a copy of which can be provided on request.
